THE QUASI-ELECT – PART 2

Scriptures are cited from the King James (Authorized) Version, unless stated otherwise.

LET US continue our study of the quasi-elect, and the various ways in which this class is pictured in the Scriptures:

Antitypical Keturah’s Children

Genesis 25: 1-4: After Sarah’s death, Abraham took Keturah as his wife (concubine – 1 Chronicles 1: 32), and she bore him six sons. We know that Abraham represents God and Sarah represents the covenant that developed the Christ (antitypical Isaac) during the Gospel Age, and Hagar represents the Law Covenant, which developed fleshly Israel (antitypical Ishmael) during the Jewish Age; therefore, Keturah’s association with Abraham proves that she is also a type of a covenant – the New Covenant – which God will make in the Millennial Age. Accordingly, Abraham’s descendants by Keturah represent classes and subdivisions of classes which will be developed in the Millennial Age under the New Covenant.

Keturah’s sixteen sons, grandsons and great grandsons are listed below:

(I) Zimran

(II) Jokshan

(A) Sheba

(B) Dedan

(1) Asshurim

(2) Letushim

(3) Leummim

(III) Medan

(IV) Midian

(A) Ephah

(B) Epher

(C) Hanoch

(D) Abidah

(E) Eldaah

(V) Ishbak

(VI) Shuah

Following are the class or subdivision of a class mothered Millennially under antitypical Keturah:

Zimran (celebrated), Keturah’s firstborn, types the 70 most prominent Ancient and Youthful Worthies, who will be given the most prominent positions in the earthly phase of the Millennial Kingdom (Exodus 24: 1, 9).

Jokshan (bird catcher – overcomer of the fallen angels) types the Worthies in general. His sons, Sheba (oath) and Dedan (lowly), type respectively the Ancient and the Youthful Worthies. Dedan’s three sons type the three groups of Youthful Worthies, according to the Levitical divisions in which they have been developed: (1) Asshurim (mighty ones) types those Youthful Worthies developed in association with the Kohathites; (2) Letushim (oppressed ones) types those Youthful Worthies developed in the Merarite section; and (3) Leummim (peoples) types those Youthful Worthies developed in the Gershonite section.

Medan (strife) types the Consecrated Epiphany Campers. Under the Worthies, they will be the most able controversialists (Jude 3) for the Truth.

Midian (name means the same as Medan) types the quasi-elect fleshly Israelites, who also will be controversialists on behalf of the Truth. Midian’s five sons represent the following five groups among the Jewish quasi-elect: (1) Ephah (darkness) types those Israelites who in the Jewish Age were not faithful enough to become Ancient Worthies, but still retained faith in the Abrahamic promises and clung to the Mosaic Covenant; (2) Epher (fawn) types those Jews who in the Gospel Age, but prior to Israel’s conversion in Jacob’s Trouble (Phase 2), are believers in the Abrahamic promises and the Mosaic Covenant, and remain faithful thereto unto death; (3) Hanoch (initiated, teaching) types those Jews who during the Gospel Age, but prior to September 16, 1954, accepted Jesus as their Savior, but failed to consecrate, yet remained faithful to the Ransom and righteousness; (4) Abidah (father of knowledge) types those Jews who after September 16, 1954, but prior to Israel’s conversion accept Jesus as their Savior and as unconsecrated believers remain loyal to the Ransom and righteousness; and (5) Eldaah (god of knowledge: mighty in knowledge) represents those Jews who will be converted at the time of Israel’s conversion during and just at the end of Jacob’s Trouble.

Ishbak (leaving) types the loyal tentatively justified Gentiles.

Shuah (low place, depression) types the non-elect, unbelieving Gentiles and those Jews who have forsaken the Covenant promises.

Gershom and Eliezer

Exodus 2: 22; 4: 24-26: 1 Chronicles 23: 15: Moses’ two sons, Gershom and Eliezer, type respectively a more and a less faithful tentatively justified class during the Miller Movement. The antitypical Gershom class consecrated, typed by his circumcision, and thus became prospective members of the Body of Christ. The tentatively justified ones typed by Eliezer, including some who will become of the quasi-elect, were less faithful and did not consecrate.

The Subordinate Millennial Princes

In the Millennial Age, the Tabernacle Camp represents the condition of the world undergoing restitution. This Camp will be divided into twelve antitypical tribes of restitutionists. The “princes” that head these twelve tribes will be the Ancient and Youthful Worthies (Isaiah 32: 1). These Worthies will be the subordinate and visible rulers under Christ, while the world will be subject to these Worthies. In the type, the leaders or princes had “subordinates,” who were assistant princes or captains. So, the Worthies as princes will have able assistants in the quasi-elect (especially the Consecrated Epiphany Campers).

The Antitypical Gospel Age Levites

Numbers 1: 49-54; 3: 6-9: These Scriptures set forth the Levites, who in the Gospel Age setting type the unconsecrated tentatively justified, who, if they prove faithful to the Ransom and righteousness, will be of the quasi-elect.

Antitypical Orpah

Ruth 1: 1-14: Ebimelech types crown-lost leaders in the Miller Movement, who after 1844 went back into the nominal church. His wife Naomi types crown-lost ledlings. Their sons, Mahlon and Chilion type the more faithful and the less faithful tentatively justified leaders. Their wives, Ruth and Orpah type respectively more and less faithful leadable tentatively justifies ones. The death of Mahlon and Chilion in Moab types the lapsing of the tentative justification of these tentatively justified leaders. Orpah’s remaining in Moab types the pertinent tentatively justified ledlings remaining in the nominal church. Many of them remained faithful to Jesus as Savior and to the practice of righteousness, and therefore are of the unconsecrated quasi-elect. Ruth types those who consecrated and as prospective Youthful Worthies came into the Harvest Truth.

The Queen of Sheba and her Retinue

1 Kings 10: 1-13; 2 Chronicles 9: 1-12: The Queen of Sheba visited Jerusalem with her train or retinue to inquire of Solomon’s wisdom and riches. She types those who are or are about to become Consecrated Epiphany Campers. She pictures them as being very earnest Truth-seekers and investigators, who on finding the Truth, the wisdom of antitypical Solomon, respond very favorably and generously. The large numbers of Truth-investigating but non-consecrating adherents of the Queen of Sheba class are typed by her train or retinue.

Antitypical Post-Exilic Nethinim

The Nethinim (given ones, dedicated ones) are referred to in 1 Chronicles 9: 2 and several times in Ezra and Nehemiah. They were the special assistants of the Levites in the service of the tabernacle and the temple. The antitypical post-Exilic Nethinim are all Campers. In the post-1954 Epiphany period they consist of: (1) Consecrated Epiphany Campers; (2) unconsecrated tentatively justified ones; and (3) unjustified, nominal people of God. Those who remain loyal of classes (1) and (2), and some, the loyal Covenant-believing and justice-practicing Jews of the time before Israel’s national conversion, in class (3), are of the quasi-elect.

Jerusalem’s Topography

Psalm 72: 3: This Psalm describes the Millennial reign of Christ, implying that symbolic Jerusalem will be the seat of government. There are two mountains in Jerusalem – Zion and Moriah – representing respectively the Christ and the Ancient Worthies, as the two higher powers of the Kingdom. There are also three hills – Akra, Bezetha and Ophzel – representing respectively the subordinate powers of the Kingdom, that is, the Great Company in the heavenly phase and the Youthful Worthies and Consecrated Epiphany Campers in the earthly phase.

The valley between symbolizes the Restitution class: the higher parts the quasi-elect, believing Jews and faithful faith-justified, and the lower parts, unbelieving Jews and Gentiles of this life.

Virgins without Number

Canticles 6: 8: The Bible uses virgins to represent consecrated people. In the post-1954 Epiphany period, there are still three consecrated classes fulfilling their course in this life – the Great Company, the Youthful Worthies and the Consecrated Epiphany Campers. These three classes are represented by the three groups of women in special relationship with Solomon. The Great Company in their 60 divisions, having the closest relationship with antitypical Solomon (our Lord), are represented by the 60 queens. The Youthful Worthies in their 80 divisions, being in the next closest relationship, are represented by the 80 concubines. And the Consecrated Epiphany Campers, in the next closest relationship, are represented by the virgins without number.

The Plain of Sharon

Isaiah 35: 2: This chapter has both a literal and a symbolic application for the Millennial Age. In restitution, “It [the desert] shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon” [white – in allusion to the righteousness of the Kingdom] shall be given unto it [the world of mankind], the excellency of Carmel [fruitful – the Ancient and Youthful Worthies] and Sharon [plain – the quasi-elect], they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.”

The glory of God’s Kingdom and its righteousness, especially as these are manifested in the Ancient and Youthful Worthies and the quasi-elect will be seen by the world of mankind (Isaiah 40: 5); for, under the lead of the Ancient and Youthful Worthies, the quasi-elect will convert the Gentile world to the true faith and righteousness (Acts 15: 16, 17).
